La levigatrice rotorbitale lavora in tondo, quella orbitale ha una piastra rettangolare per le superfici piane. A fare la differenza è l'orbita, cioè il diametro del piccolo cerchio che il platorello descrive oltre alla propria rotazione. Più grande è l'orbita, più materiale se ne va. Per te significa: orbita piccola per il trasparente, grande per lo stucco. Della batteria gli utenti apprezzano che nessun cavo strisci sulla vernice e che non serva una presa vicina. A favore del cavo parla la potenza continua quando lucidi un'auto intera in una sola passata, e i rivenditori specializzati considerano le macchine a batteria meno costanti nei lavori lunghi. Nessuna delle nostre fonti dà un'autonomia affidabile per auto, quindi minuti non ne diamo.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eVetro, spigoli della vernice e clip in plastica reggono meno di quanto le macchine sappiano fare\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOgni macchina di questa sezione ha un limite oltre il quale fa danni: aria calda sul vetro, polvere di carteggiatura nell'aria, rotazione sugli spigoli e coppia sulle clip in plastica.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSul vetro la pistola termica non ci deve andare, perché il vetro scaldato in modo non uniforme può spaccarsi. Anche coating appena applicati e un punto di vernice scaldato a lungo vanno tenuti fuori dal getto caldo: la vernice surriscaldata può bruciare. Per la pellicola conta la temperatura sul materiale, non quella impostata sulla macchina. Per la carteggiatura a secco della vernice la DGUV, l'assicurazione antinfortuni tedesca, prevede l'aspirazione direttamente sul posto di lavoro; soffiare con l'aria compressa solleva soltanto la polvere fine. Se carteggi, metti in conto l'aspiratore fin dall'inizio. Non a caso FLEX inserisce gli aspiratori nello stesso sistema Automotive delle levigatrici.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLa rotazione genera più calore d'attrito di una rotorbitale e, secondo i rivenditori specializzati, è roba da mani esperte. Sugli spigoli quel calore diventa critico per primo. Come pad, giri e pressione lavorino insieme lì fa parte della scelta della lucidatrice, non della panoramica sugli utensili.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eL'avvitatore a batteria è fatto per viti piccole: targhe, mascherine, pannelli. Bulloni delle ruote e giunti bloccati non sono lavoro suo, gli manca la coppia. Il suo punto forte è l'opposto: limita la forza, così i filetti in plastica restano integri.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAl primo utilizzo di ognuna di queste macchine, andare piano sembra la cosa giusta, e lo è. Per la lucidatura a macchina l'ADAC, l'automobile club tedesco, indica ombra, temperatura moderata e pressione leggera. Se parti così ci metti di più, ma togli solo quello che vuoi togliere.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eFLEX copre quasi tutta la catena, RUPES la lucidatura\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDue marche danno forma all'assortimento con ruoli diversi: FLEX con macchine dalla carteggiatura al compressore a batteria, RUPES con le lucidatrici BigFoot a cavo e a batteria.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFLEX costruisce la catena quasi per intero: lucidatrici rotative e rotorbitali delle serie PE, XFE, XCE e PXE, levigatrici rotorbitali e orbitali delle serie ORE e OSE, pistole termiche, un compressore a batteria, un avvitatore a stilo e batterie e caricabatterie delle classi 12 e 18 volt. L'eccezione nel sistema è l'avvitatore a stilo, a cui FLEX dà una batteria integrata: per questo non fa parte della piattaforma 18 volt. Un compressore con serbatoio dà aria continua per la pistola di pulizia ad aria compressa o per uno smontagomme, per cui Weber-Werke indica da 8 a 10 bar. Un compressore a batteria gonfia pneumatici e carica nebulizzatori, ma come fonte d'aria per utensili pneumatici non basta. Visto che qui lucidatrici, levigatrici e pistole termiche vanno a corrente, l'aria compressa in questa sezione resta alimentazione e non una famiglia di utensili a sé.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eSi parte da una lucidatrice, non da una valigetta di attrezzi\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSe inizi con gli elettroutensili, compra prima la macchina per la fase di lavoro di cui la tua auto ha davvero bisogno: per swirl e ologrammi è una lucidatrice.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSe vuoi curare la vernice e togliere gli ologrammi, parti da una lucidatrice rotorbitale a orbita libera. Orbita libera vuol dire che il platorello gira solo finché l'attrito sulla vernice glielo permette, e con troppa pressione si ferma. In pratica la macchina si frena da sola prima che troppa pressione diventi troppa asportazione. I rivenditori specializzati la considerano adatta a chi inizia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSe nella vernice ci sono colature o inclusioni, prima della lucidatrice arriva una levigatrice. Se lavori la pellicola, la macchina successiva è una pistola termica. Se nell'armadio hai già batterie FLEX da 18 volt, resta nel sistema: è quello che consigliano anche gli utenti sui forum. Se hai già una macchina RUPES iBrid, una seconda lucidatrice RUPES a batteria usa la stessa batteria.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLa difficoltà è meglio conoscerla prima. L'ADAC consiglia di lasciare la lucidatura a macchina ai professionisti, i rivenditori specializzati invece considerano la rotorbitale adatta a chi inizia. Hanno ragione entrambi: la macchina perdona più di una rotativa, ma la tecnica la impari comunque sui primi pannelli. Ci vuole più tempo del previsto, e fa parte del gioco.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSe hai già una lucidatrice a cavo, non sei obbligato a passare alla batteria. La macchina a cavo resta quella per la passata lunga su tutta l'auto; una a batteria si aggiunge per i punti dove il cavo dà fastidio.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSe lavi e sigilli soltanto, la levigatrice non ti serve. La lucidatrice entra in gioco quando swirl o ologrammi ti danno fastidio sulla vernice.
