Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a valuable investment in paint protection – but PPF also needs proper care. Incorrect cleaning products can dull the film, accelerate yellowing, or degrade the coating on sealed PPF. Practical tip from Detailing1: PPF edges are the most sensitive areas: always clean with high-pressure water parallel to the edge, never across or directly on the edge – this can detach the film. For maintenance, do not use a quick detailer with wax – it can embed itself in the film structure and lead to hazing.

GYEON Q²M PPF Care: Wash Workflow and Maintenance for Paint Protection Films

The wash workflow for PPF vehicles is similar to that for coated vehicles: pre-wash with a PPF-compatible snow foam, hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo from the Q²M shampoo line, low-contact drying. Important: no high-pressure water directly on PPF edges, no wax on sealed PPF, no alkaline cleaners on the film. For regular freshening between washes, coating-compatible quick detailers without wax content are suitable.
