COLOURLOCK Leather Colour for Lexus: Original Standard Colour for Factory-True Leather Repairs
What is COLOURLOCK Leather Colour for Lexus? — The perfectly matched standard leather colour allows for factory-true colour refreshing and repairs on Lexus leather, ensuring a consistently even, original finish.
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Lexus) is a precisely matched standard leather colour for the professional repair, refreshing, and recolouring of Lexus leather interiors. The colours are based on original Lexus colour samples and are formulated to blend harmoniously with existing surfaces. Ideal for seat bolsters, steering wheels, armrests, door panels, and all pigmented smooth leather in the vehicle interior where colour accuracy and OEM appearance are crucial.
- Original Lexus Colour Tones – Developed from factory-standard colour samples.
- For Repair & Refreshing – Ideal for scuffs, fading, and colour loss.
- Professional Finish – Optimal adhesion and even colour application.
💡 Detailing1 Workshop Practical Tip: In our workshop, when reconditioning Lexus vehicles, we often see the same problem — colour loss on seat bolsters and steering wheels is covered up with cheap care sprays that don't last four weeks. With Leather Colour (Lexus) dabbed on with a microfibre pad in 2–3 thin layers, with 30 minutes of drying time in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat Dull — the result lasts 2–3 years, just like factory-new.
Prepare, Dab Thinly, Seal with Top Coat
Leather Colour (Lexus) is applied in 2–3 thin layers, with 30 minutes of drying time in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat. Thin layers last for years, thick layers crack.
Before applying the colour, the leather is cleaned with leather cleaner and degreased with Plastic Cleaner or cleaning alcohol. Deep cracks and scuff marks are smoothed out with Filler or Super Filler and sanded smooth with 1000-grit sanding fleece. The Lexus colour tones are then dabbed on with a microfibre pad, wiped with a soft brush, or, for large-area repairs, applied with a spray bottle.
After complete drying for at least 4 hours, it is sealed with Top Coat — Dull for a matte, original OEM look, Glossy for medium shine, High Gloss for maximum brilliance. One litre of Leather Colour covers approximately 8–10 m² of leather surface; a 250 ml bottle is sufficient for a complete pair of seats including the steering wheel. The same workflow works for all components from seat cushions to door panels to the centre armrest.
Pigmented Leather Yes, Natural Leather and Suede No
Leather Colour (Lexus) is exclusively suitable for pigmented smooth leather — the standard in modern automotive applications. Natural leather, aniline leather, and suede react differently and require other COLOURLOCK product lines.
The water-based formulation bonds with the pigment layer of modern automotive leather, remains elastic, and accommodates leather movements without cracking. On natural leather or open-pore aniline leather, the colour penetrates the fibres unevenly and stains the leather — in these cases, Leather Fresh (Lexus) as a care variant or special aniline lines are used. Suede, velour, and Alcantara are treated with Nubuk Fresh (Lexus), which preserves the rough fibre structure instead of gluing it down.
If colour accuracy to the original factory colour is crucial and the component needs extensive restoration, Leather Colour is the right choice. If only a small area (steering wheel scuff, single tear) needs to be repaired, Fluid Leather (Lexus) in the 20 ml tube is more economical and precise. If the leather only appears slightly faded, Leather Fresh as a care variant is usually sufficient.
For Detailers, Workshops, and Owners of Classic and Youngtimer Cars
Leather Colour (Lexus) is the professional choice for detailers, independent workshops, and ambitious owners who prioritise value retention and original Lexus colour accuracy over quick care solutions.
For lease returns, used car reconditioning, and classic and youngtimer restorations, OEM colour accuracy determines value retention and resale price. The professional 4-step workflow (clean, sand, dye, seal) takes 4 hours including drying per component and delivers a result that lasts 2–3 years, just like factory-new. One litre of Leather Colour costs about 30 cents per 100 ml of treated area — workshop calculation including Top Coat is around 12 Euros per component.
For pure care routines without workshop tools, Leather Colour is overkill — Leather Fresh (Lexus) is sufficient there. For spot repairs on the steering wheel or individual tears, Fluid Leather or the Leather Care Sets (Lexus) are more economical. However, anyone who wants to restore entire seat bolsters, steering wheels, or door panels and values original Lexus colour accuracy cannot do without the 1-litre bottle or the 250 ml container.

Une question sur Koch-Chemie × COLOURLOCK COLOURLOCK "Leather Colour" (Lexus) — Couleur cuir standard pour Lexus ? Faites-le vous expliquer :
What is COLOURLOCK Leather Colour for Lexus?
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Lexus) is a water-based, elastic leather standard dye in original Lexus shades. It is used for repairing, refreshing, or recoloring pigmented smooth leather in the vehicle interior – seats, steering wheels, armrests, door panels.
How do I apply Leather Colour (Lexus) correctly?
First, thoroughly clean and degrease the leather. Fill and sand any damage with filler. Then, lightly dab, wipe, or spray on the Leather Colour – 2–3 thin coats are better than one thick one. After complete drying, seal with Top Coat (Dull/Glossy/High Gloss).
What is the difference to Leather Fresh?
Leather Colour is the professional repair dye (1L/250ml, can be sealed with Top Coat). Leather Fresh is the conditioning color cream (1L/100ml) for lighter refreshes without extensive preparation. For deep abrasion → Leather Colour; for dull surfaces → Leather Fresh.
Do the colors really match Lexus exactly?
The shades are based on original Lexus factory color samples. For heavily faded leather, we still recommend a color test in an inconspicuous area, as the original leather darkens or fades over the years.
What are the most common mistakes we see in the workshop?
Three classics: (1) Leather not degreased beforehand – color doesn't adhere. (2) Too thick a layer applied – forms cracks when drying. (3) Top Coat sealant omitted – abrasion resistance less than 6 months. With proper preparation, the result lasts 2–3 years.
Do I absolutely need a Top Coat?
Yes, for lasting abrasion resistance. Without Top Coat, the color on seat bolsters and steering wheels will wear off again within a few weeks. Top Coat Dull = matte-original (OEM look), Glossy = medium sheen, High Gloss = high sheen.
Just ask us. Daniel will help you.
