COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Opel: Specialized Suede and Velour Leather Care

What is COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh for Opel? — This specialized suede and nubuck care preserves the texture and color of rough natural leathers in Opel interiors — specifically developed for velour, nubuck, and Alcantara.

COLOURLOCK Nubuck Fresh (Opel) is a special care dye for rough-textured suede, nubuck, and velour surfaces in Opel leather interiors. Unlike Leather Colour or Leather Fresh, Nubuck Fresh is not intended for smooth pigmented leather — the formulation is designed to preserve the fine fiber structure of suede and prevent it from sticking together.

• Suede-specific – Specially formulated for rough-textured natural leathers.
• Maintains Velour Look – Prevents fibers from sticking together or becoming matted.
• Original Opel Colors – Factory-accurate pigmentation for seamless care.

💡 Detailer's Workshop Practical Tip: With Opel suede seats, we often see the same user error — customers treat the suede with normal smooth leather care, which causes the fibers to stick together and look flattened. With Nubuck Fresh (Opel) and a fine brass brush in a 5-minute care routine, the typical velour look is maintained. After drying, brush lightly again — and the fibers will stand up velvety soft again.

Dry brush, spray, work in the direction of the fibers

Nubuk Fresh (Opel) is evenly sprayed onto the suede from a distance of 20–30 cm with a spray bottle and worked into the direction of the fibers with a soft brush. After drying, brush again for the typical velour look.

Before care, the suede is dry-brushed with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush to remove dust and ingrained dirt. Then, it is wet-cleaned with a special suede cleaner and allowed to dry completely. Only then is Nubuk Fresh (Opel) sprayed from a distance of 20–30 cm — no puddles, spread immediately.

The color is worked into the direction of the fibers with a soft suede brush or fine brass brush until the pigmentation is evenly distributed. After 30–45 minutes of drying, the leather is lightly re-brushed so that the fibers stand up and the typical velvety-matte velour look emerges. A 250 ml bottle is sufficient for about 4–5 applications for mid-range vehicles with Alcantara steering wheels and suede seats.

Suede and Velour yes, Smooth Leather no

Nubuk Fresh (Opel) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leathers — suede, nubuck, velour, and Alcantara. Pigmented Opel smooth leathers are treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.

The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes combines with the rough fiber structure without gluing or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuk Fresh would adhere unevenly because the typical fiber structure is missing — the care would look blotchy instead of even. On aniline leather, the fiber would not be sufficiently protected; here, aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are needed.

If the Opel vehicle has genuine suede seats, an Alcantara steering wheel, or velour door panels, Nubuk Fresh is the only correct care. If the interior consists of pigmented smooth leather, however, Leather Fresh (Opel) or Leather Colour (Opel) is used. For mixed equipment (suede seats, smooth leather doors), both products are used in parallel.

For Suede Seats and Alcantara Steering Wheels

Nubuk Fresh (Opel) is the care solution for owners and detailers with genuine suede or Alcantara components — applied every 6–12 months, it keeps the leather permanently velvety and color-stable.

Suede and velour leather get dirty faster than smooth leather and fade more under UV light. The care routine every 6–12 months prevents deep penetration of dirt and protects the fibers from permanent fading. For heavily used vehicles or family cars, a 3-month cycle is also worthwhile. One application takes about 45 minutes per pair of seats, including brushing and drying — costs per application are around 6 euros in material costs.

For pigmented smooth leather components in the same vehicle, Leather Fresh (Opel) is used — both products complement each other in the workflow. If you are looking for a complete care bundle for suede and smooth leather, you can also check out the Leather Care Set (Opel), which contains both components.

Care instructions for suede (Opel):

Nubuk Fresh (Opel) is exclusively for rough-textured natural leather – suede, nubuck, velour and Alcantara. Pigmented Opel smooth leather is treated with Leather Colour or Leather Fresh.

The special carrier solution with finely pigmented dyes binds with the rough fiber structure without sticking or weighing it down. On smooth pigmented leather, Nubuk Fresh would adhere unevenly because the typical fiber structure is missing – the care would appear patchy instead of even. On aniline leather, the fiber would not be sufficiently protected; here, aniline-specific COLOURLOCK lines are needed.

If the Opel vehicle has genuine suede seats, an Alcantara steering wheel, or velour door panels, Nubuk Fresh is the only correct care product. If, on the other hand, the interior is made of pigmented smooth leather, Leather Fresh (Opel) or Leather Colour (Opel) is used. For mixed upholstery (suede seats, smooth leather doors), both products are used in parallel.
