Detailer cerchi

(1 prodotti)
Wheel detailers maintain rims between washes: they remove light deposits such as fresh brake dust, road grime, and water spots, leaving behind a thin, water-repellent protective film. The wheel detailers in this category are applied to cool rims with a microfiber cloth. They do not remove burnt-on brake dust, nor do they replace a wheel sealant; rather, they refresh its effectiveness.

Trattamento della superficie e protezione già presente guidano la scelta; i depositi pesanti di polvere dei freni vogliono un detergente vero.

Frequently Asked Questions about Wheel Detailers

What is a wheel detailer and how does it differ from a standard quick detailer?

A wheel detailer is a quick detailer for your wheels: it removes light contaminants like fresh brake dust and road grime while leaving behind a water-repellent protective film. According to the manufacturer, the P21S Wheel Detailer features a heat-resistant formula and an approved list of compatible wheel surfaces; some paint detailers simply list wheels as just another surface. You can find the paint-specific versions under Quick Detailer.

What is the difference between a wheel detailer, a wheel cleaner, and a wheel sealant?

A wheel cleaner removes dirt from several drives, including stubborn brake dust. A wheel sealant creates a smooth protective layer that makes it harder for dirt to stick. The wheel detailer provides maintenance in between: it removes the thin layer of grime accumulated since the last wash and refreshes the protection. It does not replace a cleaner or a sealant.

Does a wheel detailer remove baked-on brake dust?

No. The manufacturer promises the removal of light soiling; baked-on brake dust is not included. Dark spots that remain after wiping can be removed by a wheel cleaner, or in several passes for stubborn cases. Our guide on baked-on brake dust explains why household remedies are ineffective here. Only use the detailer afterwards, once the wheel is clean.

Can I apply the wheel detailer to wet or hot wheels?

On wet wheels, yes; on heated wheels, no. According to the manufacturer, the P21S Wheel Detailer can also be applied to wet wheels. For better long-term effectiveness, the wheel should remain protected from moisture for at least two hours afterward. On heated wheels or in direct sunlight, the product dries too quickly and leaves streaks. Hand-warm or cool is fine.

Will a wheel detailer damage my ceramic wheel coating?

According to the manufacturer, no: the P21S Wheel Detailer is designed to strengthen existing coatings, expressly including ceramic coatings. According to product specifications, it can be applied without prior degreasing. It refreshes the layer rather than replacing it. If the beading effect diminishes significantly despite regular maintenance, the next step is a new ceramic coating for wheels.

Can I use a wheel detailer on matte or wrapped wheels?

Wrapped wheels are on the manufacturer's approved list, but matte wheels are not. Dr. Wack points out that color refreshment and increased gloss can occur on matte surfaces. Therefore, always test the detailer on an inconspicuous area first for both matte and wrapped wheels, and only treat the entire wheel if the finish remains unchanged.

    Maintain rims with rim detailer

    1. Let the rim cool down. After driving, wait until the rim feels lukewarm or cool to the touch. Do not work in direct sunlight or on heated rims, otherwise the product will dry and leave streaks.
    2. Prepare the bottle. Shake the bottle and turn the nozzle to spray.
    3. Spray onto the cloth. Spray the detailer onto a folded microfiber cloth, not directly onto the rim. This prevents spray mist from getting onto the brake disc and brake caliper.
    4. Distribute on the rim. Spread the product evenly over the rim with the cloth, spoke by spoke. This is also possible on a wet rim immediately after washing.
    5. Wipe off and buff. Wipe off and buff with the unused side of the cloth or a second, dry microfiber cloth. Then turn the nozzle back to stop.
    6. Let dry. Protect the rim from moisture for at least two hours afterwards so that the protective film can achieve its optimal long-term effect.
