Medium-cut one-step polish for correction and gloss

The ZviZZer MC 3000 Medium Cut is a water-based one-step polish with homogeneous aluminum oxide grain, classified in the ZviZZer color system as orange (medium). It removes fine scratches, swirls, and sanding marks from P3000 grit upwards and produces a hologram-free high gloss in the same step. Silicone- and solvent-free, made in Germany.

Apply a pea-sized amount to the medium-hard orange pad, distribute at approximately 1,000 rpm, and then work in at up to 1,800 rpm with medium pressure until a clear, high-gloss finish is achieved. Work in 40 by 40 centimeter sections, cleaning the pad after every two to three sections. Not for deep scratches—these require a heavy-cut polish beforehand. Store in a cool, frost-free place and use within 24 months of opening.

Knock out scratches and holograms in one pass

What is the ZviZZer MC 3000 Medium Cut? A water-based one-step polish that pulls out light scratches, swirls and sanding marks from P3000 up, while building hologram-free high gloss in the same pass. Not for deep scratches that reach the substrate, and not for the last one percent of a show-car finish.

ZviZZer MC 3000 Medium Cut is a water-based one-step polish from ZviZZer with a medium cut, flagged Orange in the five-stage colour system. Its uniform aluminium-oxide abrasive breaks down evenly as you work it — it starts with cut and finishes fine, so correction and gloss fall into a single step and the paint stays hologram-free. It is silicone- and solvent-free, and made in Germany.

  • Correction and gloss in one pass. The MC 3000 takes out light scratches, swirls and sanding marks from P3000 up and finishes hologram-free at the same time — the separate finishing step you'd run with a straight cutting polish is gone. One side of a daily driver goes to high gloss in about 30 minutes.
  • Two sizes for two job depths. The 250 ml bottle is good for roughly 5 to 8 full corrections on a mid-size car; the 750 ml bottle is for the long haul through a season. A pea-sized blob covers one pad's worth of panel.
  • Cut you dial in through the pad. The MC 3000 runs on dual-action and rotary and is matched to the medium Orange pad or lambswool. A harder red pad gives you more cut, a softer yellow one more finish — one polish, three cut levels.

Detailing1's tip from the shop: The most common mistake with a one-step polish is too much product at too high a speed. Three blobs on the pad and full rpm build heat that dries the polish out before the aluminium-oxide abrasive has worked itself down — what's left behind is dust and a hazy film. Spread a pea-sized amount at about 1,000 rpm, then work it at up to 1,800 rpm with medium pressure until clear high gloss stands. On a 2026 clearcoat a single pass was all we needed, where too much product had us going over it three times.

Spread at 1,000, work it at 1,800 until high gloss

Spread the MC 3000 pea-sized at about 1,000 rpm across the section, then work it at up to 1,800 rpm with medium pressure until the polishing film goes clear and high gloss stands.

You need a clean base first: washed, decontaminated, taped off. Work in sections of about 40 by 40 centimetres. The matching medium Orange pad is colour-matched to the MC 3000, or lambswool does the job too.

Keep the pad clean: after two or three sections, knock the polishing dust out or swap to a fresh pad. A clogged pad just smears and stops building gloss. Below 15 degrees paint temperature the working time stretches noticeably — bump the rpm up a touch then, rather than reaching for more product.

Medium defects yes, deep scratches no

The MC 3000 reliably corrects light to medium swirls, holograms and sanding marks from P3000 up — but on deep scratches you can clearly feel with a fingernail, a medium polish hits its limit.

Its sweet spot is one-step correction of wear and tear: swirled, dull paint that's crying out for gloss and depth but doesn't need heavy cutting. On a looked-after daily driver it pulls a result in one pass that a two-step system would otherwise need a cutting polish plus a finishing polish for.

The limits are clear: if you've got deep scratches, reach for the heavier cutting polish first, then a finish on top. If a flawless show-car mirror is the goal, lay a finishing polish over the MC 3000. On very soft Japanese clearcoats even a medium can leave faint holograms — drop a grade softer then.

For the one-step detailer, not the show-car polisher

The MC 3000 is the right call when you want a visibly better result in sensible time and you're not running a multi-stage programme every weekend. Because it's water-based and silicone-free, it hides nothing — the result you see is the real one.

It's a poorer fit for two extremes: heavy correction on neglected paint, where the upfront cut isn't there, and no-compromise concours work, where a pure finishing polish runs at the end anyway. If you need both day in, day out, you're better off with the stepped ZviZZer system from Pre Cut to Ultra Fine than with a single one-step polish.

Sealing comes next in the workflow: because the MC 3000 works silicone-free, you don't need to degrease the paint separately before coating — a splash of isopropanol as a check does the trick. Skipping that wipe-down is exactly what most people do, and it's the reason a supposedly perfect gloss suddenly shows holograms after the first wash that were only masked by the polishing oil before.

Frequently Asked Questions about ZviZZer MC 3000 Medium Cut

What is ZviZZer MC 3000 Medium Cut?

MC 3000 is a water-based one-step polish with medium abrasive power (Orange). Its homogeneous aluminum oxide grain breaks down evenly during polishing, removing fine scratches, swirls, and sanding marks from P3000 grit upwards hologram-free, while simultaneously producing a high-gloss finish.

Which machine, pad, and speed should I use for MC 3000?

Use with an orbital or rotary polisher, along with the medium-hard orange pad or lamb's wool. Distribute at about 1,000 rpm, then increase to up to 1,800 rpm with medium pressure until a clear, high-gloss finish is achieved. The pad hardness also influences the abrasive effect.

Can beginners safely use the MC 3000?

Yes. As a one-step polish, it is very forgiving: it removes less material than a pure compound and builds gloss at the same time. Nevertheless, test on a small area first, keep the pad moving, and work with small amounts of product—this prevents heat and holograms.

Polishing or waxing — what comes first?

MC 3000 corrects the paintwork, while a wax or coating protects it afterward. Polish first, then seal. Since the polish is silicone-free, you do not need to perform an extra degreasing step before applying a coating—a quick wipe with isopropyl alcohol for inspection is sufficient.

Can I do anything wrong with the MC 3000?

The most common mistakes are using too much product or too high a speed. Both generate heat, causing the polish to dry out and leaving dust and haze. A pea-sized amount per pad surface is sufficient. On very soft clear coats, use a softer pad.

How often can I polish a car with the MC 3000?

As rarely as necessary—every polishing step removes a small amount of the approximately 40 to 50-micron-thin clear coat. For a one-step process, once or twice a year is usually enough. The 250 ml bottle covers about 5 to 8 detailing sessions for a mid-size car.

Application of ZviZZer MC 3000 Medium Cut

From dull paint to hologram-free high gloss

Before polishing, the paint must be clean: washed, decontaminated, and masked off. Residues of tar or industrial fallout will otherwise get into the pad and cause fine scratches.

Apply a pea-sized amount of MC 3000 to the medium-hard orange pad or lamb's wool, distribute it over the area at approx. 1,000 rpm, and then work it in at up to 1,800 rpm with medium pressure until the polish film becomes clear and a high gloss is achieved.

Work in sections of approximately 40 by 40 centimeters and brush out or change the pad after every two to three sections. Below a paint temperature of 15 degrees, the working time is extended—in this case, use a slightly higher speed instead of more material.

Since the MC 3000 is water-based and silicone-free, it does not hide anything. Finally, wipe down the surface with a splash of isopropyl alcohol to check the true result before applying wax or coating.

Notes: The MC 3000 corrects light to medium defects from P3000 grit upwards. Deep scratches that you can feel with your fingernail require a stronger sanding polish first, followed by a finish. For uncompromising show-car preparation, follow the MC 3000 with a pure finishing polish. On very soft clear coats, work with a softer grade. Store in a cool, frost-free place and use within 24 months after opening.
