Dubbi su ZviZZer Thermo Allrounder Pad "Soft" tampone in thermo-schiuma (Giallo)? Fatti spiegare:
The Soft Pad is a soft polishing pad made of open-cell thermo foam with a closed-cell rubber backing layer and Velcro; it is marked in the ZviZZer color system as yellow, signifying the soft level. The foam remains dimensionally stable under heat, keeps the abrasive force constant, and finishes hologram-free. It is designed for finishing and gloss.
A fine finish polish of the same level, in the ZviZZer system the yellow FC 2000 Fine Cut. Pad hardness and polish grit must match: soft pad plus fine polish results in gloss. A coarse abrasive polish on a soft pad provides hardly any correction and just smears.
Soft (yellow) is the soft finishing level for gloss and the removal of fine holograms. The Ultra Soft Pad in green is a touch softer and intended for the final finish on very soft or dark paint. For more cut, use a harder orange or red pad.
For dual-action and rotary polishers via the Velcro mount. There are five diameters from Ø 50 to 165 mm. The pad should not extend beyond the backing plate. Large pads for surfaces, small 50 and 70 mm ones for mirrors, pillars, and tight edges.
Most common mistake: using a polish that is too coarse or too much product on the soft pad. Both lead to smearing instead of gloss. Also, a pad that is too large for the backing plate will overheat at the edges and tear. Using little product, matching fine polish, and the correct diameter will solve this.
Wash it out immediately after polishing before the polish hardens in the foam, then let it air dry while lying flat. Hardened residue clogs the open-cell foam and reduces absorption. According to the manufacturer, the tear-resistant thermo foam lasts up to six times longer than a conventional pad if kept clean.
The soft pad is used in the finishing step after the actual correction has been completed. First, choose a diameter that matches the backing plate: The pad must not extend beyond the plate, otherwise the edge will overheat and tear over time.
Apply about three pea-sized dabs of a fine finishing polish to the yellow pad, dab it onto the surface, and spread it at a low speed. Then, work it in at a medium speed with light pressure until the polish film becomes clear and a high gloss is achieved.
Work in sections of about 40 by 40 centimeters and brush off the pad after every two to three sections. For tight spots like mirrors and body lines, switch to a smaller polishing pad of the same hardness.
Wash the pad immediately after polishing before the polish hardens in the open-cell foam, and let it air dry lying flat, not in the sun. This keeps the thermo-foam dimensionally stable and retains its absorbency.
Notes: The yellow soft pad is the soft finishing level and has low cutting power. It is too soft for deep scratches and heavy swirls; in those cases, a harder orange or red pad with a cutting polish should be used on the machine. A pad alone does not correct anything; the abrasive effect is only created in combination with the polish grit. On very soft dark paint, you can finish one level finer using the green Ultra-Soft pad. Store in a dry and clean place; protect the foam from solvents and harsh cleaners.
